EconLit has been published since 1969 and is produced by the American Economic Association. In total, about 750 important journals are evaluated, as well as more than 200 compilations (from 1984) and dissertations (from 1987). In addition, monographs are listed, most of which also contain abstracts. English articles and essays or articles containing an English summary are covered. It also contains the full texts of the book reviews published in the JEL and the database "Abstracts of Working Papers in Economics" published by Cambridge University Press. Working papers of the RePEc projects are also taken into account.
The indexing of content is based on the system of the Journal of Economic Literature (JEL-Classification).
Econlit covers the fields of economics, economic geography, economic history, economic policy, economic theory and contains little business literature. The main focus is on English literature and publications on economics. |
